Saekano Volume 12: Twist and Conclusion

Probably won’t be able to do a quick review on Saekano volume 12 since I’ve been occupied with work and lots of night shifts in these past few months, but here is a longer teaser. Hopefully you guys don’t mind.

Another important thing to note is that the series will be concluded in the next two volumes: Girls Side 3 and volume 13, just like what I’ve mentioned previously in the page. Get your hands on the light novel here!

Ryuuou no Oshigoto!

A short post for this since apparently it managed to take the 1st place of Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2017’s Best Light Novel category.

Ryuuou no Oshigoto! is a comedy and shogi light novel written by Shirow Shiratori (author of Nourin) and illustrated by Shirabi. Three volumes have been released so far and it seems to be positively received in Japan so far.

Synopsis:

“Yaichi Kuzuryuu is the youngest shogi champion in history—the ‘Ryuuou’.

And this is Ai Hinatsuru—a girl who asked him to become his disciple.

Being too young for his title, Yaichi is going to revive his shogi through a passionate disciple…

Wait, Ai-chan is 9 years old? She is an elementary school girl! And… is she going to live with Yaichi? All night until the morning? What? Officer, can we have you here, please! A comedy about shogi-holic live-in disciple.”

Will put this on the list next time.

“Kimi no Na wa.” / “Your Name.” Bests “Ponyo”, Claims 1st Place in 9th Week

Exactly third week from my last post, Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.) successfully surpassed Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki’s “Ponyo” like I predicted.

About Gi(a)rlish Number’s Fansub

Hi guys, just wanna make a little announcement here.

After much consideration, I’m thinking of dropping the sub for Gi(a)rlish Number. I decided to continue subbing the second episode because the simulcasts are still delayed to Wednesday and GJM dropped the show. But, since Davinci has planned to keep subbing it with better quality and typesetting, I don’t think it’s necessary to have a double release every week.

It was quite a fun experience doing this, even in the middle of my tight schedule. I hope you can continue enjoying Gi(a)rlish Number from now on. This show is certainly a contender for Fall 2016’s best anime. For those of you who haven’t watched it, give it a try!

On an unrelated note, I’ll be having my thesis defense tomorrow, so please wish me luck.

[MagnAvaloN] Gi(a)rlish Number – 02

Second episode’s here. Manged to spare some time to finish this in the middle of my thesis defense prep. Hope you enjoyed it.

[MagnAvaloN] Gi(a)rlish Number – 01

I didn’t expect to do this myself, but here it is: Gi(a)rlish Number’s first episode. As I said in the page, I’m doing this half-asleep for three hours straight, so there may be some mistakes. Nevertheless, I hope you can enjoy the show. As to whether I will be doing this for future episodes to come, I’m not really sure. Oh, and if you want to give any feedback or proofread the .srt file, feel free to; didn’t have one while working on this. I also talked a bit about the first episode earlier, which you can find here.

Note: for those who asked me whether I will continue subbing this, I’m not promising anything since a more experienced fansub group is picking it up, namely Good Job! Media. Also, it has been announced by Crunchyroll that they will be streaming this show.

UPDATE (09/10/2016): 01v2 is up, with minor revisions to the script; props to Z for being the proofreader. I also updated some of the lines to fit the context better.

Gi(a)rlish Number 01: Wataru Watari Takes a Jab at the Seiyuu Industry

After restlessly waiting for the next Oregairu volume and experiencing the terrible quarity ride that is Qualidea Code, I guess it’s relieving that Gi(a)rlish Number finally aired its first episode yesterday night on TBS. For English viewers, the simulcast will be out next week. UPDATE: I did a quick sub on this here.

“Kimi no Na wa.” / “Your Name.” Claims 1st Place in Sixth Week, Surpasses “A Wind Rises”

A pleasant surprise: “Your Name.” (Kimi no Na wa.), Makoto Shinkai’s latest movie that has been attracting a lot of attention in Japan and worlwide, has just passed Hayao Miyazaki’s “A Wind Rises” (Kaze Tachinu) in sales.
