Anyway, as a person of a Chinese origin myself, I’m celebrating the Chinese new year by gathering up with the whole lot of my big family—and along  the way, getting my share of the annual angpao tradition, haha. (≧∇≦)/ It’s quite fun to be hanging out with members of the family that you rarely encountered and talking to them, as the whole event brought up the atmosphere of togetherness.

So, how about you? How do YOU spend your Chinese new year? Well, however it is, I’m wishing you the best of God’s blessings for this year. ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

  1. I will celebrate the Chinese New Year for the first time in NYC Chinatown at the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival. Also, planning to cook some traditional Chinese dishes for my family. My son and I made red lanterns to decorate our home and he’ll be happy to know that I have a red envelope reserved for him with some lucky money in it ;). And, btw, we are not Chinese or Asian for that matter. I love to explore different cultures and I thought it is important to expose my son, family, the world to different cultures in the hopes of fostering better understanding and tolerance.

    1. I see. 😀 I love to hear that others are celebrating Chinese culture in their own ways, and I agree with you on that point—experiencing different kinds of culture might help people to understand each other better, and that could very well lead to world peace. 😉 Happy Chinese New Year, I’d love to hear more about how the celebration went at your place! =D
